  • Hurray! At last!
I guess we all have to apologise to your immobiliser now

The ECU bracket is a total nightmare. I always take off the secondary plate with the clip and just shove the ECU up into its cradle behind the heater box. Then push the white trim bracket onto its stud to stop it falling down and replace the under-trim.

    • Lol, thats OK. I'll get hold of some other fuses as low on those. Not sure what caused it to blow in the first place though. If you can give me a couple of pictures of the positioning and fitting would be great as mine isnt fitted in the stock location at present.

      • Feel up behind the heater box, there's a slot the ECU fits into. Feed it in from below. The connector end is towards the floor of the car.

                • Thanks guys. Yes no 22. My current ones have the tabs missing so fitted differently.

And you can buy them in boxes of 250 from Screwfix. Make sure you get the galvanised type. Group buy anyone?

                      • Thanks all. I was looking at the A2 stainless screws as they are quite cheap too. Will order some tonight. I'm also after an accelerator cable if anyone knows part no and/or a good source ? Next job after this weekend will be to fix the odometer and then start to tackle the brakes as I may move back to 28mm thick front discs instead of the 32mm I have fitted now as overheating hasn't been an issue and will also save on unsprung weight, and they need replacing anyway

                        • Greg I have a nice ABY throttle cable for sale
Also 28mm rotors might not be any lighter, often just the air gap is larger on the wider rotors

                            • Over the weekend and a couple of evenings I have found a bit of time to start to work through some of the jobs on S2. So far I have got the headlights changed and fixed the odometer.

I prefer the look with the OE style headlights I think.

The culprit on the odometer was a single tooth stripped on the internal gear, it was a relatively quick job to get it changed using the guide from odometer gears.

Got the agreed valuation bits sorted again for the year. Next job will be to start looking at the brakes and getting the other recaro seat fitted.
