I just tapped a screwdriver in and got the old one out then removed the housing flipped it over and delicately tapped the new one in from the rear, hardest part was refitting the flywheel as it wasn't just a case of bolt it back on as some of the holes were offset so the flywheel itself had to go back on in exactly the position it came off1991 S2 3B Coupe, KW v1, solid sub frames, poly bushed, chipped, about 260 ish

quick update,
Rs2 manifold fitted (lovely shade of surface rust),this seemed to take ages to fit,not like an aby one.Using the existing studs you have to offer the manifold up and not push it home. You then have to get all the nuts on the end of the thread first, then tighten up to pull the manifold on.You cannot just push it flat to the head then do them up.

Well feel a bit better today as it was very productive.
I waited almost 2 weeks for my clutch to arrive from Ireland as the fekkers at parcel2go and ukmail decided to play a game of ping pong
Anyway, fitted the clutch to the engine on the floor, didn't have a clutch allignment tool so had to improvise by using a sparkplug socket which prooved to be the perfect size for alligning
So,engine mounted in place...talk about jiggery pokery! Took ages to get it sat at the right angle what with the gearbox bellhousing facing upwards etc
At least the hard bit is over but one thing I am concerned about is the clutch pedal,I tested it once the bellhousing bolts were all in and it feels like it has no resistance to it.One thing to mention is I did replace the brake 'bomb' whilst the engine was out so can't remember if they are connected(its been a long day..) I guess bleeding the whole system wouldn't hurt.
I took my first ever trip to Euro Car Parts today and I was pleasantly surprised,Oil filter Bosch unit a mere £3.99!! Had a major headache the last week searching threads on here about what oil etc and in the end I settled on Mobil 5w-30,whilst there invested in some bright Pink G12++
Tomorrow I want to connect all the wiring etc back up,threadlock and final tighten the bottom crank bolt, jack it up and bleed the Hydraulic system, flush out the waterways and antifreeze it.I would love to have started tomorrow then need to install the V-Stream

yeah cheers guys im quite pleased so far,but as ever you expect the worse...
will the clutch be ok? It came from Ireland from S2_wot and is a 3b item,it will do for a minute, perhaps later on I'll go down the Sachs route..
Just concerned abouty the lightness of the pedal...
Flywheel bolts,I fitted new ones as you are not supposed to re-use them again, just hope they dont leak as they didn't have much lockthread on them from the dealers..
Main crank seal,it seemed to fit very snug but just paranoid
