    Terrific shots, Janis!!

Can we see some more shots under the bonnet too?!
Did you take the valve cover and inlet manifold off and have them
    blasted and painted?

I am running ET45 with 20mm spacers all round, so effectively ET35, they sit perfectly, but as I said just feel there could be improvement in grip with something wider and stickier possibly. It's not very bad, just something to think about for the future

40's would be my choice too on those rims.

Having driven several S2 Avants and been in a super quick S2 coupe the standard setup in my picture out handles/feels [I]a lot more direct and grippy/I] than the sport suspension on the S2's. So even with the "balooney" effect you mention still feels far more positive than any standard S2 i have ever driven. On extremis the S6 would push wider than the S2 but thats only at really silly speeds which 95% of the time we don't reach.

I would agree with you there Janis about your current wheels and tyres.Your running et 45 on those rims which pushes the rims inwards reducing the track. Go for at least et 40 or et 35 for better wider track with a top quality tyre of at least 235 preferably 255 for your road car for maximum fun and enjoyment.

Sorry John i can't say i agree with you for a road car. 255 40 x 17 is he factory fit on the 8J X17 plus specks. If you were to say that of RS2 wheels which are 7.0J ONLY x 17 inch Porsche 'Cup' road wheels and 245/40 ZR17 Dunlop tyres (standard factory fit) then that would be one hell of a wobbly situation, yet the press loved it and presumably do the present owners!

Below standard fitment plus specks are 8J using standard factory fit 255 40 x 17 tyres showing no real bulge to speak off.

These are 7.5" wide one's off A4, but after this trip I feel like 225's are not wide enough, so will be getting 8" with possibly 255 tires
