        • Very little - the lines arent holding significant pressure when engine is off - unlike old k jetronic machines that have a pressure holding valve. Take the usual precautions though !

          • just pull the pump fuse when the engine is running mate, relieves all pressure before you crack the lines... if you are cutting them underneath the car you'll still get a fair old dribble though

            • cheers guys - final question, what to crack them open with, any special tools? I have to do this i think before I head down to Le Mans this year. They look very cruddy around the rubber mountings and I have the MOT next week - I'm sure they will become an official cautionary item

              • I used one of this small hose cutters that plumbers use - you need to pull enough of the pipe away from the clip to give it the clearance to travel neatly around the pipe. Give the pipe a good clean first in that area to reduce chances of any grit etc making its way into the pipe (apres filter). You gradually tighten the pressure on the cutting blade as you do a few laps of the pipe to get a nice clean break.

                        • so picked up a silverline tool at the weekend, so just need to confirm how much pipe to buy and reconfirm the Pipe ID - anyone help?

As its on stands waiting for the rear subframe to be sorted, Might as well sort this one as was on the list of cautionary items at last MOT

                          Cheers

                          • 8mm pipe you need mate. Depends how far you're going with it - to the bulkhead area i'd guess?
If you are keeping the carbon cannister I'd say you need 9m, without it 6m

                              • Yep, just the runs under the floorpan to the point where they go up along the back of the firewall.

Is this kunifer stuff pliable enough to work with by hand or do i need a pipe bender at all. Not a job I want to start and then realise I'm missing something

                                Cheers
