I've never understood why the Germans are such rip offs when it comes to small items on postage.

    • Taking my time to connect the wires, hoses, breathers and vacs.
The jig saw puzzle is slowly coming together.

Where do the knock sensors attach to the block? I have two, one green and one blue.

Where do the knock sensors go on the block?

Just below water rail, green at front.

Here you go, make sure everything is clean, torque to 20 Nm.

            • Knock sensors fitted no problem.

              Wires all fixed

I have an issue with this valve. I can’t get the rubber boot on. I think the valve is broken. There is a spring hanging out. I’ve ordered a new one.

I don’t want to fit anything else until this is sorted as there won’t be any space afterwards.

              • Whilst waiting for engine parts I’ve gone back to the interior.

                The spray booth!

                I died my blue carpet!

Looks not too bad. Needs another coat and I ran out of stuff.

I found I’m missing more parts. Passenger side air duct and rear ducts plus connector that drops down from dash shroud.

And I can’t figure out how to get the sunroof liner off. The guide pics have gone.

                • Sunroof liner - make it flat and move it back a little, then there are clips which push off a couple of pegs when you push it backwards.

Can get a pic if you want, mine is out the car at the moment...

                    • Be careful with the clips, they can be fragile... Try and push the sunroof panel back keeping it square, if it twists it makes more friction and you end up pushing harder which is never good.

Thanks very much. That helps. I will have a go in the morning.

The clips and pegs for anyone else taking this on

I’m just looking at my seat plug and wonder if it will work with my Recaro’s?

                            In the car

                            On the Recaro loom

                            Any advice gratefully received

                            • No, the green plug is for seat heating.

                              • Ok. Thought something wasn’t right. I take it my Recaros don’t have heating then as there is only one plug on the underside of the seat.
