Quick question, do I remember reading somewhere that you are using a set of wheel spacers? Just that looks really nice!

15mm spacers Andy - gives perfect fitment on the rear, little bit too wide on the front TBH, 10mm would be ideal but cannot get hubcentric spacers in less than 15mm really.

              Cheers Tom
Car is still far from perfect externally, going to the body shop for a bit of work in the next few months - you can just see some rust on the back of the rear arch in the pic above - poor repair from years gone by unfortunately

Getting there now though...... had a day off yesterday (birthday) and managed to get my carpet and most of the interior back in - and sweet jeebus its so quiet inside now - I'd imagine you could hold a very civilised conversation at 125mph

Prepping up now for the final step to the running gear rebuild - Konis and H&Rs along with refurbed hubs and probably K24R castor offset topmounts

Thanks Alex, looks nice with the wheels filling up the arches. Just curious does it tram line any more with the wheels pushed out? Or any other negative affects? Just never been keen on the idea of spacers; moving the load on the wheel bearing and altering geometry.

I have to say I love the look of the car panther black?

Must be great to drive it after all the work you have done!

                  Panther Black

It does pick up undulations and tramline a tad more, but nothing to write home about TBH mate.
I have no steering damper, wider tyres and knackered dampers and still no really scary moments stamping on the anchors form speed on a bumpy B-road.
Will defo stress the bearings a bit more but no more than a set of bigger wider wheels really, car is a more planted and also lower offset increases the moment on the steering gear too so very marginal increase in steering feedback

Panther black looks great, used to have a 90q20v in panther black.

Effects sound like fitting bigger/wider wheels as you say. What size tyre are you using now then? 225/50/16?

No steering damper-is this deliberate or not been replaced yet?

yup 225/50s. Removed the steering damper to see what it did, but mine was so knackered that it made no difference.
Might replace it at some point, not sure its necessary TBH

Correct. I bet you could fit them in situ but getting the old ones out might be more tricky.

yup, think you'd struggle to get the only ones out. Easiest way is with a couple appropriate sized sockets and a vice.

The bushes were designed to be an interferance fit so you really need to tap them in with a hammer anyway
