Does anybody know what a good spring rate for the helper spring would be?

Thanks again for that advice Martyn.

Just been sent some pictures of the head, its all done and coming back next week. Looks stunning from the pictures I am sure it will get a large turbo making boost nice and early!

I went up to see the shell yesterday and its all painted underneath. Forgot the camera, so waiting for the bodyshop man to send the ones he took. Its now back onto its frame and the exterior is being started.

          Wow...

Who did the head work...always good to know a trust worthy shop.

Are you going for shorter valve guides or just re-profiled?

              .

Jesh...they is going to be darn short...you dont mind the increased wear?

Why the same on the exhaust side, would help with heat transter and the flow is different from the inlet?

              That's dam extreme...

Its going to be an extreme engine. The head is just the start. Some answers to your questions from the guy who did the head:

Exhaust guides are actually longer than standard. The ports where welded up and reworked with longer guides blended in. Less protrusion gives improved flow by reduction of turbulance and hotspots ultimatelly aiding guide wear on the exhaust.

As for the intakes I was asked what sort of mileage expectancy was required vs flow gain so 4mm was lost of the total length. Some length being kept by installing them to a different height which we could get away with due to the shallower retainers that have been opted for.

                  And again...

That's alot of thought going into the work and parts...

Waisted inlets just to finish off.

Great build thread and fantastic attention to detail.

I have to agree with your colour choice, it just had to be white!

I am just using standard ur quattro ball joints. If you want more caster you can buy offset solid subframe mounts that push the subframe forwards.

Any pictures of your cylinder head then Terry?

Afraid its bolted down... I have some but there crap to be fair.. My Valve guides on the exhaust side did not go completely but were shaped to a V with a curve. Maybe 2 or 3mm lower than standard so only 4-6mm proud.

                              Cheers Terry
