    Yea offshore at the moment.
Have not checked out tyres but was not looking for anything too extreme.
Like the idea of having dedicated wheels so I can travel back to Aberdeen and not have to worry about ripping up tyres on track.
My tyres came good after the drive back home but took me a long time to clean my wheels of brake dust and rubber
Got some video of you after passing me for a few laps, couldn't keep up on the straight..........Looking for RS2 turbo now!
Will have to get it uploaded once I get home.

    cheers

    Steve

Most track day organisers stipulate a full cage is required if you are running slicks.
Plus they will destroy all your suspension bushes etc real fast. Track day tyres are the best option

It was great fun, cant wait to go again.

I take it you are offshore now?

I think Martin is booked on for Sat 28th of February (track Scotland day), is 11th of January a Knockhill trackday?

I imagine it is going to be pretty cold and wet either day

I am going to get something sticky, A048, AD08, R888 etc, proper slicks seem like they might be a bit much hassle. What tyres are you looking at?

Just getting caught up with your thread now, sounds like you had some day at Knockhill.
Cant view the pictures as they are blocked
Would like to try and get to Knockhill on the 11th Jan was thinking of fitting some track tyres on my RXs.

    Cheers

Not sure as I got it all from the guy who got it from custom cages.

    Says £141 on their website

    Or £254

Yes the notches can just be done with an angle grinder, cut off wheel to cut to length/angle. Flap disc to shape. Nothing a saw and file cant do either with more time.

What's the price just for the hoop? Rest of it looks pretty straightforward diy, just don't have the gear to bend the main hoop.

Hoop is from custom cages, made for a coupe, came with the footplates to weld in (had to bend to fit)

They have done this one. (I assume they save all details so they can reproduce them)

Is that hoop available from safety devices specially for the coupe or is it some universal piece? Interested in doing something similar with mine, eventually.

Thinking about a B pillar gusset, if its tied in up it would really get rid of the open box that is a coupe shell.

I wont be able to give any useful feedback I don't think, I am not driving the car regularly enough, hadn't driven it for a couple of years, and am changing too much at once

Nice, you going to tie it into the top of the B-pillar?
Should really help add some rigidity to the floppy old coupe shell - interested to hear your feedback

Gave the cage a wipe down with thinners, and a quick coat of paint

    Exhaust laid out
