Problems getting parts with the emulator, there are always issues when mapping.
I suspect like most tuners they are not that interested in wasting time messing about with old crap/eproms etc when you could be flashing.
VES said vems, emerald, omex, any good standalone ecu, better tuning, easier to re tune after any mods.

Yup, one of Albert's turbos. No idea on the intake, if so I have a large cobra head hose, or will just use a silicone 180 and punch a hole into the inner wing or build an air box. I need to pop the wing off but think you might be able to make a nice airbox for a cone between the inner wing and outer if you made a floor for it.One of Albert's? I'm still tempted by one of those, the only thing that puts me off is not being able use the stock MAF hose, well actually I'm guessing that's the case as the compressor inlet looks a fair bit bigger than stock. I like the fact that the RS2 set up looks OE and bolts together easily.
It's a pity that VES don't map Motronic anymore what with them being local to you, are considering going VEMS from Danny over sticking with Motronic and using Automark?
Yeah, it would have been perfect as they are only 20 minutes away.
I was thinking about it, but you need to buy VEMS, then get it tuned, so it cost the same as a motronic live map + vems ecu. I am not a tuner so the ability to re tune if something was changed is limited, though I could use "any" local tuner rather than a motronic specialist.
I am just going to get Mark to do it and be done with engine mods after this (if I end up building a stroker next year I will be kicking myself
)

Thats a bit of a ******, What was him emulator issue? Cheaper us buying an emulator between us and getting them to map both cars than travelling and paying for map?I called VES Sport today, they are no longer mapping S2s on motronic due emulator hassles. He said he prefers to map on stand alone with heavily modded S2s as there is better resolution.
I called Mark at Automark, he was most helpful, he will map 3B or ABY, he has done up to 700bhp on the dizzy, but says cop is better. He will use mechanical boost or electronic boost controller. If going COP he advised using new standard S2 coils as they will do another 100k. If using TFSI coils he does not adjust the dwell. Stock MAF is to be on the pressure side between the intercooler and the intake manifold.
Ordered a downpipe from Danny at DNA, he does VEMS ecus and maps them.
I have been thinking of vems for a while and also OMEX 710 as Alan at AVA uses OMEX alot although has never done a 5 pot, he could be very useful plus my unit next door if any issues.Leave a comment:

Only a brief phone chat so far to confirm he maps them, I called today when I was at work but he was on the dyno and I never got a chance to call back. I will give him a call tomorrow and report back.
Last time I called he said he used to map S2s and RS2s, just not any recently, he was happy with different turbos injectors etc, so not just generic stg 1 remaps.
It would be great to have a local tuner.Leave a comment:

Hahaha.^^ a ken witcha mean eh!
I'm interested in VES sport as well. How much have you interrogated them about what they do with s2s?
Anyway of us checking what they actually do in the ECU incase they just do daft stuff like bleed valve and ramp up fuel pressure?Leave a comment:

Perfect, thanks Alex.
That would be great John! I cant get an answer from PRJ about a UK visit, so am going to try use VES Sport, local to me and they used to map S2/RS2s (mostly newer stuff now though).Leave a comment:

I've done the pin swap and COP conversion recently, I can send you the print outs of the ECU pin swap and wiring if you want
Definitely do it if you want PRJ to map it cos he won't do 3Bs now.
