Well just got home from my unit after fitting the 996 calipers, think the pads have gone alittle hard, and the fact that there EBC red stuff pads so they really need bedding in as there isn't much improvement at the moment! Im going to let them bed in for a while but I think different pads are in order!

I've got a couple of bad quality pictures of the swap but I'll get some better ones tomorrow!

Final Brake update... for now...

Fitted some new pads on saturday and straight away the brake pedal had a better feel and the brakes were much more responsive.
I've been bedding them in for the last few days now and I can now honestly say there is a vast improvement over standard brakes.

Had to be recovered home last night in the early hours of the morning after my oil cooler giving up while under abit of stick and then proceeded to empty all the engine oil and then started rattling pritty quickly.

Ive stripped the front off quickly to see whats going on so Im in need of an oil cooler new or second hand so I can then get the engine running to see what other damage may have been caused, I'm sure I'll update in due time but if the outlook is bleak and there is damage to the engine then I'll more than likely look at braking for spares.

You could fill up the oil and by pass the cooler this would let you run the engine to see if you have any further problems

I had a look for something at home to bypass the cooler with but was unsure, what would you suggest would be the best way?

I guess pretty much anything that joins the pipes a hydraulic
Store would have a Male Male fitting that would work a treat

Thid is the same thing that happened to Greg's coupe a few months ago.

Yeh I am to be honest. I should have checked really as by the looks of it, it's been corroded for awhile although I must have taken it for granted as I have a receipt from a local specialist that all the cooler, shroud, ducts and lines were fitted only a few years back.

the light only came on after the knock then instinct kicked in and looked at the gauge and saw just below half a bar! I'm a mechanic by trade and I would always tell my customers if anything like that happens then switch the engine off straight away but the road I was on was a well know road for people that like spirited driving and I was going up a sweeping right hand bend that goes uphill so I decided it wasn't safe to stop where I was and had to try and get it to the top of the hill to the straight so that I would have been more visible.
