Tonight's progress.
Tomorrow's plan of action is to fit the pick up pipe, re-check the torque of the bottom end and fit the sump.
Hopefully after that I'll get the clutch and flywheel fitted then get both the engine and box back in the car!

Quite a bit more put back together but by the end of the evening I couldn't help my self and had to get trial some bits and bobs!
Still to do is,
-rebuild the PAS pump
-Make a cross member for the intercooler
-Make all the intercooler pipe work
-Fit and route new oil cooler and lines
-Re-build the front subframe
-Modify and fit downpipe
-Re-fit prop
-refit exhaust and prop heatshields
-Fit exhaust system
-Finish fitting brakes and source rear brake setup
+ hold load of other things but its too late to think about everything.

I don't know what make the cooler is but its alot bigger than standard and was cheap so I';me sure it will do, If not I'll run a standard one until I can get my hands on something like a Wagner one.Comment

Decided against running the big cooler I have, it's too big and I don't really want to have to cut the bumper away so for now I'll tidy up the original one and run that until I decide to go ahead and go for more power.
Today's work:
Finished rebuilding the PAS pump.
Built and fitted the front subframe and lower arms.
Fitted front driveshafts.
Fitted propshaft.
Fitted driveshaft and propshaft guards.
Fitted front brakes
Tidied and secured the last of the wiring and hoses
Pictures to follow.

Yes the oil cap does look great, thanks again for sorting these out!
The sump is on but I didn't notice any fouling with the studs. The only thing I noticed with the studs is that obviously one doesn't stick out as much as the rest because its shortened. I'll have another look when I'm up there tomorrow after work to make sure everything is ok.Comment

it was something I had noticed on the sump I bought....there was deep marks in the casting and it matched the stud pattern....it has also been noted on other builds I have helped with....Originally posted by TimE-J View Post

Yeh thanks for the heads up, I'll have another look tomorrow night. I think I'll have to borrow the bore scope from work as I dont want to take the sump off again.

you'll not see it due to the baffling plates in the sump....if it closed up alright, you should be fine...Comment
