  • I'll make some chips specifically for this as well, and I'll give them to Paul, etc...
Do you intend to do 3b stuff?

      I am afraid not.
I'll make the chipset on my own car, and that'll be ADU spec ECU.

These results are not real world results as they are taken one cylinder at a time not all cylinders being measured at the same time which is what happens in an engine condition, therefore take them as a marker only

          • Hi,

As for the coldside, the easiest is to just cut and re-weld the exit. It's much cheaper and easier than other solutions.

Wasn't 56mm exducer on the K26 #8? If it is, then my logic would say it should be smaller.
Then again, perhaps it'd be easier just to measure, because I might be wrong about the K26 #8 size.

              A source here:
              http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=15595

Suggests that the minor bore of the K26 #6 is 48mm and the minor bore of the K26 #8 is 55mm.

              • If it was with a turbine wheel with 55mm exducer it would be way laggier than K24-7000. 55mm is GT3076 territory.

Rather than a ' hack and bolt on', what could be done to sort the aethetics of this ugly thing out? I see you've fitted the K26 hotside there - what hotside is that, where was it sourced? Do we think it would be possible to have a coldside machined to fit that looks/fits stock?

I'm trying to see how this could be used as a basis for a drop-in replacement on an RS2 to give 'the best of both worlds'...

I'll be in the Vegas-SLC area for 10 days early May, if it happens to coincinde with any more trips up there I would love to see this thing in the flesh

The K26 #6 is a direct bolt on with no other mods needed. They are the same turbine blade profile and size. I didn't think the turbos were ugly. Dave choose not to use the built in BOV on the turbo, but I would have. This is the same valve that Borg Warner is using on their top of the line EFR Ti Gamma turbos. They support huge power levels, and they are the same part number. I asked the rep at SEMA last fall. Really, the only ugly thing that can not be taken off is the raise in the casting and the volvo label.

Are you going to actually be in SLC?

                    • K24-7400 specs should be:
                      Compressor - OD 62mm, Inducer 45.8mm
                      Turbine - OD 59mm, Exducer 50mm

this was talking about the inlet hose for the turbo, 034 sells an off the shelf silicone replacement hose made for the larger compressor GT turbos with stock airbox, I'm fairly confident that this would be an easy answer.

K26 #6 hotside. you could machine the coldside but part of the beauty of this is that it is modern technology, it is the "ETT" extended tip technology, although it might not be pretty it is functional.

ABY and ADU are identical. same castings, most ADU manifolds even have the square for the "powered by porsche" inscription.

                        • And NCTS and hopefully not to start abidding war, but it has 2 days left and is going for 10 quid, it will probably go cheap since it is missing the hotside which means the volvo guys don't really want it... which means the Audi guys do

Volvo Part number:8603298, click on the link below, there are several part numbers for the turbo, i believe the one i listed is for the "later" style with NON-vband outlet on the compressor side, the picture shows part number 30713137 which is also a valid number.

these guys sell new for 750
