The below graph is the GT3076r with smaller more comparable .63ar housing.

With GTX3076R we would probably see similar spool but more top end power.

In this test as you can read the EFR7163 was with 0.63AR turbine housing while the EFR 7670 was with 0.82. Also the GTX3076 tested had also a 0.82 AR turbo. You cant really compare.

Very interesting figures on the 7163 EFR. Makes me think that might be my next choice.

Do these come without the BOV or solenoid? Especially since we use different equipment?

I also noticed this one only comes as 0.85ar but still has a beautiful minimal lag with ability to reach 500hp

Here's another, focused on the EFR7670 and some Garrets.

    I'll just leave this here.

Not coincidentally, these results were a major contributing factor in leading me to an EFR7163 instead of an HY/HX35 or 40 Super. Results gained swapping turbos using the same 2.5L Subaru on the same dyno.

I just.mentioned the garret and holset options as I had the opportunity to purchase a used item of each at a good price. Im 100% open to any other suggestions of turbos to use!

    Many thanks

no offence is meant by this but, why are you only comparing holset and garrett turbos? there a a hell of a lot more companies that make very good turbos, why get stuck on 2?

Nice! Good luck! What dyno will you use?

As I said on Saturday the speeds your car with achieve on a twisty B-road is offensive.

Don't forget 2.2t it is old school .Most engines have over 20 years. But is still good or event better than new cars.Old holset is same is better than more new modern turbos

Sticking a bigger comp wheel on that is a waste of time, which is why in independent tests a GTX3076R only delivers 5% power improvement, if even that. The GTX turbo to have with a GT30 turbine is the GTX3071R, as it is basically a GT3076R with better spool.

Easy to get lost in compressor maps, but there are always two halves to a turbocharger, and both have to flow. There is no sense in using a huge comp wheel when the turbine is choking.
A GTX3582 or GTX3576 are much better ideas.
Can you plase post link to independent tests ?

    GT3076R vs GTX3076R hot side

GTX3076R 0.82 A/R has same peek power on 2.5L engine that GTX3082R 0.63 A/R - HP figure is HP on wheels

    some other graphics

    GTX3076R 0.82 A/R vs GTX3582 0.82 A/R - HP figure is HP on wheels

For me Holset is old turbo for trucks.

full test with more turbos Garrett is here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2110277

Has any of you used MasterPower Turbos? Or heared something good about them?
There is a lot of models and you can chose between variety of turbine housings. Also these turbos are dirty cheap, prices start for new turbos 600€.
    Here is their product catalog:
