Uhhh yeah that's me being completely stupid and misreading the bloody chart

Who the hell makes a graph with a 16 point difference between each line anyway?!

Yeah i'd agree with that, although im not convinced it's going to be any more impressive for street driving... in my experience you get to the point where the extra power has little or not return unless you're on a drag-strip or dual-carriageway

Also the kx500 i have is k26 flange... so nice and OEM

Sonic, you can get the same spoolup but with 600+hp/700+Nm with an HX40 Super. Seems that there arn't much competitors to Holset here.

Maybe I did not put it the right way. 500hp is the limit on a 2.2T that is drivable.
Everything more you have so much lag that the car is only good going in a straight line with an antilag start.

Either that, or you need very deep pockets to create a well usable power band.

ok thanks, the main thing here is this is not a street car at all, it is a track only/race car. the only thing holding it back at the minute would be rev limit of around 7500rpm, so im just after a turbo that gives over 500bhp and a decent powerband that doesn't need a high rev limit due to the turbo coming on boost late and giving max power at 8k rpm+

    thanks

500bhp, decent repsonse and full boost/torque by 4000-4500rpm max.

    Cheers
520hp - HX35 Super and WMI kit. Full boost 3800 rpm. GT3082 is pointless, like GTX3076. GT3076R is OK, but full boost will be 4200 rpm, 400 rpm later.

The HX35S is closer to the GT3071R in spoolup, but flows almost like the GT3076R.
It is at the moment THE turbo for a streetable 2.2T.

All the Holset lag stories are due to people using incorrect hotsides for Gasoline applications - which is understandable, as these are originally Diesel turbos and Diesel turbos have much bigger hotsides, as the exhaust volume flow on Diesel is higher.

As for twinscroll - on a 5 cylinder engine this is not going to happen.

The physical turbine choke limit will be higher if the compressor is turning faster. Compare the gtx3076r and gt3076r compressor map speed lines. Don't think it can spin much faster....

Prj, your post says, that there is nearly no difference in the capacity of the turbines-with higher rpms possible, choke line of turbine should be improved, too, so is the rpm level or limit the same between GT and GTX? Was the turbine side changed? What is the improvement from GT to GTX?
Only the compressor wheels have changed. The turbine wheels are the same.

Sticking a bigger comp wheel on that is a waste of time, which is why in independent tests a GTX3076R only delivers 5% power improvement, if even that. The GTX turbo to have with a GT30 turbine is the GTX3071R, as it is basically a GT3076R with better spool.

Easy to get lost in compressor maps, but there are always two halves to a turbocharger, and both have to flow. There is no sense in using a huge comp wheel when the turbine is choking.
A GTX3582 or GTX3576 are much better ideas.

    GT3076R is exacly 525 HP turbo ...

GTX3076R is 600HP + one. You need to have proper cams and head work done.
