What? The box of parts? Yes very. I drove pretty carefully on the way home. The 440+ miles I travelled to get the parts there and back didn't come cheap either. But I felt safer delivering it myself.
Obviously the cost of the balancing depends on what work you have done. As already said, give Phil a ring, he's a friendly chap.

Bo - Thanks for your help on the crank.

James - It's a Spec 3+ pressure plate and a Clutchnet Carbon friction plate. I got it from Aelred when Clutchnet apparently didn't have any pressure plates, so he got a batch from Spec, but I still wanted to have a Clutchnet clutch to replace the one that Bo had.

          Here's my block.

I admit it's not the best paint job I've ever done. But in my defence I did paint it at about 2am on Christmas day on my return from the pub. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I spent most of yesterday morning giving the block a good clean inside, tapping all of the bolt holes, and poking brushes down all sorts of places to get any dirt out. The oil return from the breather was almost completely clogged.

How much detail do you want to see on the progress? I've taken a few pictures, which seems to take up more time than actually putting the engine together.

                      Checking the bearing clearances.

Not too bad for an old crank.

Just whip the engine out again if you get bored over the Christmas break.

I got 4 sets of Mahle piston rings from GSF and 1 set from Audi, which cost almost as much as the 4 GSF rings.

The top 2 rings seem to be the same, but the bottom oil ring is different.

Here are the Audi piston rings with a 2 piece oil ring.

Here are the Mahle piston rings with a 3 piece oil ring.

Here are the pistons, rings and rods assembled.
