I don't think so, AFAIK Bo was using a std 3B head. I think the valve guides may have changed over the years and the washer was never updated to suit.

Did you get those valves?

Finally got the cams fitted and the head was finished


Adjustable cam sprocket from 034


Short block ready to receive the head. Good tip from Jamo about fitting the head gasket first, then the studs as it is a tight fit!


Oil pump with cam belt roller and 3B water pump as the tensioner.


Head fitted and torqued down

Turbo is a Garrett GT3071, I'm not going after massive top end power but I'm looking for good driveability and an early spool, which I'm hoping this will give me.

Be quicker than that stroker will drop turbo response by 1000rpm

Theoretically Andy should have full boost between 2.5-3k

My 3076r stroker will give full 2 bar boost at 3500 rpm ( aronmatic2 dyno proven )

Reallly I was talking about how the big turbo delivers the power, it comes in slower than a small one but just keeps on going. The extra 200ccs will help too of course.

the way this engine looks i would just put it inside my house and just look at it its too good to put in a car .

Yeah I'm sure my coldside was AR .50 on the GT3071, what difference will it make?

In 3/4/5th I saw 1bar @3,000rpm in the 3B, always found it very driveable though obviously i did have to get used to losing the instant punch low down. Will be interesting to see what this stroked beast does with it, 2.0bar boost from 3-6k and a bit less at the redline i imagine?

I know of somebody running a 3071 on a 2.2 that is 'allegedly' getting full boost at 2200rpm. This is with extensive head work, cams and and electronic boost controller. Hoping to get a go in it soon so I'll confirm this.
