Yep - can't get enough of the clio, just ordered another set of winter tyres for it as well

Not ndoing the work myself - i barely trust myself to change a bulb let alone rebuild an engine! The thought of me doing it is about as scary as the bill will be

Stock pistons with new rings it is

Ouch.. that won't happen from a mere ~420bhp though.

are they new stock valves? the sodium ones become brittle and snap off, i have seen it happen in stock engines with high miles.

If you know they come brittle, you must also know the reason why it happens?

After seeing what happened to AndyP's stroker I'll be investing in new exhaust valves when i build my head, not worth the risk IMHO.

The head broke off one of my exhaust valves when I was running it in, resulting in this

I've since replaced the valves with brand new ones.

wouldnt that also be the cause of a poor mounting of the valve as well?

i was using the same OEM stainless valves previously without issues and so many kms.

I had a quick passenger ride in Ross's RS2 yesterday, almost identical spec.

I knew the upgrades were going to be brutal, but I think i'm going to be a bit scared of my own car when i get it back!

Anyway, more lovely pictures from Rich (the mechanic)
