@Sonic... thats the only trouble with the Zeitronix kit - its not just a WB O2 device... You can use it just for that and hook up to an AFR guage - or to their datalog box. It also measures boost and EGT via the additional sensors you mention. If you've got the funds then go all out for it, but there's plenty of good cheaper options that focus just on accurate AFR display. Try and find one that lets you control the narrowband probe signal into the ECU - allowing it to run a bit leaner in cruise, idle, part-throttle conditions to save fuel - will pay for itself quickly IMHO.

Would the Zeitronix boost measurement work in tandom with my VDO gauge running from the vacuum line going to the ECU?

Also im assuming youd leave the current lambda setup and drill a new hole further down stream for the new EGT sensor?

1 - Yes the Zeitronix boost measurement would Tee into same line as your VDO guage... The Zt unit has its own external sensor which converts that pressure into a DC voltage that it samples

2 - You can just re-use the existing lambda hole for the WB sensor and use the existing bung in the manifold for CO measurement as the place for your EGT probe. Do you know where I mean ?

You want EGT to be as near turbo as possible.

Not exactley! In the exhaust manifold?

I like the idea of being able to plugin a laptop and get real time stats. Ill have to get a serial - USB adapter.

So just to make sure that im clear, the Zeitronix system has a wideband o2 input to replace the stock lambda sensor and a narrowband output which goes to the ECU, allowing for more advanced measurements?

I'll send you a pic of the EM Sonic but yes...

Spend an hour or so reading up on the Zt system - you are getting there alright... WBand info is needed for real-time mixture info - so as to get accurate AFR data. The Nband probe is used by ECU for closed loop mixture adaptation - less rapidly and accurately than a WB probe. The Zt unit emulates that Nband signal (based on info from the WB probe) to keep the ECU happy.

Everything is coming together now, should have all the parts, audio, mechanical and electrical by this weekend ready to complete the install - but this is how she is at the moment, after this evening antics pulling out cables that have been massacred by the alarm people

This is the only one that got me - the blue cable coming out of the connector block ran behind the dash and down the passenger side towards the rear, at which point it was cut.

The other end out of the connector block goes into the key barrel, and the yellow/black wire to some relay mounted just under the barrel.

I also pulled out that wierd amp and it appears to be a stock 2-channel amplifier. Could this be the mysterious rear amp?!

I bet the blue wire was cut off as it was probably deemed to be dead due to the quality connection.

Yeah the blue cable coming out of it ran behid the dash and then down the passenger side, and was cut and left under the rear seats.

It had a thin blue cable taped to it at several points behind the dash - but was cut at both ends, and the same with black and red cable down the length of the passenger side.

I just pulled all the cable out and detatched it from the fuse which is connected to the blue wire just below where my finger is in that pic.

Well, quick update, 48 hours before the ring trip.

Been working late hours on the car over the last couple of weeks - all the interior is back in along with the new hifi. Sounds awesome.

The instrument cluster etc is all back in, with working temp gauge and diff lock switch thanks to Jas11n

The front suspension and brakes are back on along with topmounts (thanks to Andy Casey) and the wagner inlet manifold and intercooler fitted - however its been ALOT of trouble to fit, and after tonight im pretty fed up with it

The RS2 bumper had to be trimmed to stop it pushing the intercooler back into the crank pulley which wasn't fun and when i went to drive it home this evening i got all of 20 metres down the road before the throttle stuck open at WOT

This is after the plastic under the bonnet has been removed AND the metal beaten back. The only thing left to do is either cut the bonnet or lower the engine - and for the record my engine is stock i.e stock engine mounts.

To add to that, i got it back to Rich's place (the mate who's working on it) for the alarm to go mental and not shut off - waking up everyone withing a square mile no doubt, and more important Rich's kids.

                        Ended up disconnecting the battery.

                        Not happy

At this point the only remedy is beer - lots and lots of beer...

I didn't realise the Wagner IM made the throttle cable interfere with the bonnet - are you sure everything is as it should be ?

You put the interior back IN before going to the 'ring? You should have left it out and shaved 5% on your lap times and 10% on fuel on the journey there and back!!

yes the throttle does stick if you dont give it enought clearance. what snub mount are you using . you need to give it more clearance or stop the engine lifting then giving it some beens. you could try and readjust the crossmember down a bit to try and stop the engine lifting up so much when on wot
