    haha,
im referring to the original setup that the S2/RS2 has, which is 2 cats! So if upgrading the exhaust, in general, getting 2 metal sport cats to replace the original ones, i know is more expensive, but will there be a difference in perfomance if replaced with a single 3 inch pipe? Probably will, but by how much??

I cannot see the rational of milltek back in the days of 100cc cat (single) replacing the stock system of 2 cats.

I would think that the hassle every year to put a cat in and out just for the MOT, would be too much than to get 2 permanent sport cats to replace the original system.

too much talk about cats... i hope you are not allergic to them !!

well not really no, 1 cat is enough a car can pass on a 3" cat, certainly mine has since I corrected the timing.

The only reason to have 2 cats is if you keep two centre pipes

What we do here is either a V-Band or a three bolt pattern section, which can be replaced with a cat or a straight pipe at will.

Takes all of 15 minutes to swap...

in a garage or a back yard? squeezing under the car, on rusty bolts sometimes, in a cold winter day, rainy day as well....

Fine if i had to do it in my country where its sunny 330 days a year!

2 200cpi cats, 3inch or larger are always causing less backpressure than 1 cat of similar size... i would think. I am not talking about passing emissions or not, as it would with 1 cat, but im talking about if 2 good quality cats replacing the originals would be as detrimental to the car's perfomance as having 1 cat to replace everytime you would go for MOT, therefore it could be an alternative to avoid the catless solution for more power.

I think you're probably right, but assume most people, for the sake of a few hundred quid, would go to the hassle of replacing the cats, freezing rain or not, once a year.

Some more pictures on the progress, some are out of order with the thread, but go to show some of the thought that goes into a project like this.

EV14 injectors with Finjector adapters and 034 electrical adapters. The 034 top adapters don't work with the stock injector clip on the ABY/ADU

Pressure sensor directly into the inlet manifold for the zeitronix

                      Wagner reverse inlet manifold

                      Wagner exhaust manifold

                      K26/27 hybrid turbo

3" downpipe that needed some cleaning up, and an extra boss added for the WB o2

                      Baffled sump

Full engine build with engine going in

                        very nice photos Andy,

the injectors will have to be half turned sideways with those connectors as the adapters foul the plastic cover for the injector cables.

also buy and change the oil pressure sender if it is more than 5 years old!!! Im sure Brian would have liked me more if i had given him a new one!!!!

Not sure how many meatballs i need to make to compansate!!

Seems very nice.....only objection the sump buffles....maybe too much around the pick up pipe.maybe if these buffle where placed 10mm above the bottom so it can flow in from all directions.

                            Nice.

You dont happen to know what belt you used for the PS pump do you? How much clearance from banjo bolt to IM with the belt tensioned? (actually mine is a 3B so may not be the same.. )
