That's a good idea Alex, don't see any reason why that won't work.

If you remove everything from the shell. Just leave the gear box, engine and front sub frame, undo the engine mounts the engine will now rock on the gear box mounts that are done up i did it just last week.

There is no reason why on a stock aby/adu engine with the simple hood modification the manifold would still give problems. With stock engine mounts, both epic and I use the extra phenolic spacer and still have no issues with clearance.

There are two types of bonnets, one has more clearance than the other, confirm by Wagner and Pogea way back when

Well, not good news... The head doesn't appear to be getting any oil, there is no pressure on the gauge and the head is tappety as hell

The oil pump is producing pressure, so not sure what else could be the problem. Perhaps something in the head?

Rather gutted - a mere 36 hours before I was setting off to collect the car but as it stands it might be an engine out, head off job.

What about a dodgy / damaged check valve behind the oil pressure sender fitting?

bad news, but im sure it will be the check valve. If you have used arp head bolts, where they trimmed? as one will reach the check valve and crush it. Mine had a partial crush which we think resulted in slightly higher oil pressure readings on the previous setup.

Brian removed some bit of height on the arp bolts to avoid this from happening.
