What a day!
Picked the car up this morning and set off to Dover to reunite it with the power unit. I was getting quotes of £250 upwards to transport the car down there so decided to do it myself, courtesy of friends recovery truck. Unfortunately, the recovery truck could only manage 45-50mph on the way there. That makes for a long old journey when you have a 250 round trip.
Still, got there safely and now the anxious wait begins - but I'm used to waiting

Thanks chaps.
First minor hiccup (holdup) already. The splines on the 016 gearbox are obviously different to the 01E ones, so new clutch needed. Nothing major I guess, just an oversight. Now awaiting delivery

And you need a different needle bearing

As Jamo said...you need to have the bearing into the flywheel for the 01E gearbox...as the input shaft is shorter. Hope you have the right flywheel...

oh no. Can't remember which flywheel is being used, 3B one or the one from original KV engine.
Nayone got a 3B flywheel lying about just in case?

Problems encountered trying to fit engine after mating with new 6 speed.
New clutch disc only engages about 18mm on g/b spline. Will this cause problems?
Also as can be seen from pictures, not seating on the mounts. Could this be caused from using solid g/b and engine mounts?
Hoping for some simple solutions otherwise the g/b kit might have to be re-engineered:wall:

Hy Chris! Dont know about the clutch...but at that engine mount... you need an spacer...is in ETKA also....don't know the dimension though!
I will try to find that!
