an extra silencer will help yes, there are larger ones aswell if you have the space for it under the car.

Yeah, that´s something i have noticed aswell. But if i go below 4-5l/min i see that the welds dont turn out as nice... Anyway, your stuff looks great !

      • Don't use Bosch plugs
After a couple runs at low boost (1.6 bar) to dial in the injectors.

        • Turbine wheel has a chunk missing as well on 3 blades, pretty bad on one blade.

The cylinders are glazed, due to this it had oil consumption. It needs to be re-honed and new rings.

                  • F5DP0R is not any better. Same problems with them.

We had BKR9EIX here, but I did not check which spark plugs there were until it was too late.

The engine also had oil consumption and the turbine wheel of HX40 is not that expensive either.
500-600 EUR and 40 hours of work and everything will be operational again

                        • Bored are glazed. Almost no honing marks visible at all.
It was also running very rich on old map, so I think it got bore washed.

                          • Hopefully it will get sorted out soon! We were hoping to see it run strong!

what program did he run for the run-in period?

                              • Bore wash is something you will only find during cold start and warm up, once warm it is no issue unless you use direct injection or changed injector position in relation to the inlet valves. So go easy on cold start enrichment.
Ethanol isn't helping bore wash with cold starts though.

Too bad Thomas, find a case of beer to get over the weekend and find the spirit to fix it. (again) Like Dmitri mentioned not a great deal in expenses but you could miss this like a tooth ace! Make sure you get the right turbine for the Super40, it has a different number of blades and i do think they are somewhat different in size compared to stock HX40's.
