  • Ok, what brand? Cheapest I could find was >20euros/kit.

These came with some other bits, so practically for free.

    • Starded to work the coils, removed the springplates and cutted the steering arms loose. Will weld the arms back on in a lower position on the strut. Resized the hubs to fit the new brake discs. Tried also to fit the front calipers, and they need a special bracket to fit the UFO strut and 360mm disc. Only problem seems to be finding a M12x1.5x25mm fine pitch countersunk socket bolt to clear the lower fitting point to the strut. Ideal adapter thickness would be 13mm, had only 12 and 15mm plate so I did 1mm stainless washers to use between the caliper and adapter.

        • Alex, the bold seems to be quite rare, but they can be found from here for example: http://www.nssocketscrews.com/stocks...prodCat/METRIC Did send them a enquiry, will see what they cost... Other plan is to make the hole smaller on the bracket, tap it and fit a bolt from the other side.

          • I am sure you have a fastener supplier who can get them in Finland? I would speak to my guy here, but he is uber slow unless the order is worth ÂŁÂŁÂŁ

            • Ok, thanks Alex. I did ask my "dealer" that usually source me bolts but they didn't have that kind of things.

How do you use the lower bore in the adapter?
I also tried this way at my HP2 strut.
Wasn't enough room. I will check for a picture. There was something limiting the room... Hmm.

Check the axial clearance of the caliper to the discs.
I had to rework my calipers that there is enough room.
                I used ZR/ZL 18 brake pads.
The 17" shall be smaller and better but never tried personally.

The idea was to use bolts like these:

But seems they are very hard to find, so maybe I'll use a normal pitch bolt from the disc side. Have to cut new adapters with a smaller hole, and of course tap a thread in it.

just found the old photo from my friend's car with 18ZR Cayenne Calipers.

                    • Pop, that must be HP2 hubs? It's possible to assemble these 18Z calipers directly on the UFO hubs with 350mm discs(needs only shimms), but it leaves the caliper in a different angle, more upper position than in your pic. And I wan't to use the 360mm disc without any modifications.

I forget you have UFO struts right Thomas?and yes that's HP2's.my caliper also sits way upper(09.30 o'clock)position.fabricated the bracket is a good plan since you just finished everything in one single time but i guess you're not going to replace the rotor discs at the end of every tracks season Personally i like your brackets designed.you're really great on fabricated everything.i hope i could have you next door lol.Be ready for the solid bushings mate.i got quids in my account though.

                        • Time will show how these drilled Zimmermann rotors will hold on track, may they crack? They are quite thick and massive size, so I have good hopes on them.

The caliper just fit straight on hp2 's without any modifications?

I know, but i don't think the struts on S4 B5 look the same as the urs6 struts.
