    • Always big plans, this is a never ending project. :hitme

Nick, this is just my "hobby" car. Sometimes I may drive it daily, but I have some other cars though for that.

Also started to work on a T4 manifold.

      • Maybe the hardest thing in this rear radiator project was made today, the water pipes to the rear was bended and fitted. Thanks to our PKK Motorsport team member "Teemu" for the help and for the use of the car lift. Had to cross the exhaust, so will need to add some heat wrap or some kind of heat shield between the exhaust and waterpipes.

Made the pipe brackets some time ago with a diy press tool.

        • i think you gonna need an extra (electric)waterpump for a good circulation thomas
probably you also need to remove the water reservoir in the front and place this in the back a little bit higher than the radiator for a good bleeding off the system

          • Nick, I will first try only with the stock pump. What I have heard there is a good chance it will be enough. But if it's not enough, then there will be a Davies Craig pump.

Bleeding needs to be in both ends as they are higher than the pipes under the car, but at the engine I will try with just a fill/bleed pipe with a cap, and in rear with the expansion tank.

One good thing with an electric pump is that you can leave it on for a while after engine shut down.

            • Some coolant level sensors may be nice with the extra potential for leaks due to the plumbing being exposed under the car. I used to work on a couple Panteras with similar cooling system arrangements, just opposite with rear engine. I never saw a failure but we replaced all the steel pipes due to corrosion.

I love the level you have taken this car to and I don't see you stopping anytime soon

              • Thanks! Really no idea to build a heavy car like this, but it's just for fun, so why not.

The plumbings are 40x3mm aluminium pipe, and no extensions under the car.

                • Some allywelding needed to be done soon. There can be a small problem with my welding skills to get the endtanks tight and leak free.

                    • Just make sure you have a big enough reservoir to compensate for leakage. Problem solved

                          • Thuppu, I have some trigger-issues with MaxxECU with stock Audi-sensors.

What "trigger arm voltage" & "home arm voltage" and other settings are u using ?
Have u changed some of the values ??

                            Sorry for hijacking your project-thread.

                            Very nice project

                            • Maybe start a new thread about the Maxx ECU trigger settings, as I was talking to someone else about that recently. Be interesting to see what other are using

                              • I don't remember my trigger voltages, and I can't check them just now. But you can see at what rpm it starts to make trigger error, so rise the voltage in that range. Just try to lift it in small steps.
