Great, a strange knocking sound started from the engine. Too tired to trace it for now, have to get a closer look at it tomorrow. Engine rebuild here I come... hope NOT.

what turbine housing do you use? I did not read the thread through, is it 2.2 or 2.5? What cams? How is your boost profile now before mapping?
About the engine knocking: Do you think it comes from the Head or the bottom? What oil pressure do you have on idle? listen to this and tell me if it sounds familiar (at the beginning of the clip not when i turn to the turbo):
I havn't been hard on the throttle just because that it's not mapped yet. Well, I have used some boost, but not high rpm's and only on small gears. Billman, the sound is not like yours. The engine is totally silent on idle, bun when you give it some throttle, 2000-3000rpm, the knock sound(or more like krackling sound) is quite big but on higher rpm's you can't hear it so well anymore. It does sound like it coming from the head.
Well, tomorrow I have to check the spark plugs, take the valvecover off, alternator belt off... etc...

check the oil pressure. Billman's was valvetrain noise due to the larger oil squirters of the stroker. In your case it may be too thin oil, or not enough going there for some reason.
In fact the plan was to change the oil some day soon, because the oil has lost some viscosity. The pressure is about 1 bar lower than with new oil when engine is hot. Yesturday and today I was driving much and the oiltemp was quite high for long periods. Maybe I'll try to change the oil first.

What is high? How much is the line between 80 and 130 on the oil temp gauge? 90, 100C? I don't think the oiltemp should be lower than the water temp..?

No, not so much. I was meaning normal temps but for quite long periods. Seems that the oil has gone bad and need to be changed. Hope it's it. Had the same issue with pressure drop last winter with TWS 10w-60 oil after ~3000km useage, but hadn't any strange sound. The oil was like water when drained out. The resising of the oil/oilpan volume would propably bee a good idea.
