  • On the Log, the blue lines should be the teeth on the flywheel, the white line is the camshaft sensor and the pink is the spark plug firing (or being told to fire)

your flywheel has 135 teeth so you should have 27 teeth per camshaft sensor line. Those will not all show up zoomed out like you are but you should also be firing all 5 cylinders between each cam sensor reading.

    Here's my old V8 cq's triggerlog:

All 8 fired between each cam sensor line

I think you have something set up wrong or something

        • It seems that what shows up in the log depends of the divider. If using Divby3 then there is 27(54) spikes shown, but when using Divby27 then log shows only 5(10), Divby9 show 15(30).

There is a couple of things that maybe was wrong.

First I thougt it may be the hall dizzy, turned it 180 degrees. But in the end I turned it around so many times that I'm not sure which way it was to begin with.

Second was that I maybe had the reference tooth table wrong with the divby27. I changed to divby9 and then I relised that there is the referense table. I don't know how this affect..? Now using divby9.

Third is that the engine was cranked so much that there was propably quite much fuel in the engine that helped it to fire on. Will see tomorrow how it starts again cold.

          • Got confirmed that the 1.8T IAT sensor is the right one. The old stock PTC sensor won't work with this ecu.

On VEMS you've got that "Flood clear mode" you can use.
Marc pointed this out to me and it has been useful when I was trying to diagnose whether I was too rich or too lean.
To get into flood clear mode hit 100% throttle while cranking.
Good to see you've got it running

                • Sounds awesome and such a good looking car! Look forward to a drive-by video
I wish I had those wheels and all that room that you have with the front mount rad.

                  • So coldstart(~20C) was just fine today so seems to get right amount of fuel to start properly. The coolant expansion tank started to leak as it had a crack and was repaired with silicone. Bought a new and fitted it today. The engine runs quite hot at idle, it stays at 98-99C, the fans keep the temp there. The fan thermostat could be little cooler version. Havn't driven with the car yet, so don't know how it holds the temp when cruising.

                    • You have the richt calibration for the sensor in the Vems?

                      • Yea, I'm not sure about the right calibration, but also cluster temp gauge goes some bit over 90C.

                            • Well the temperature is taken from the back of the block? It's the most hottest place for coolant. I had same issues(driven ~94* degrees and when idle'd for a while ~98* degrees), even with AAN manifold adapted Vidars thick 70mm coolant radiator. 82* degree thermostad made it all good. Mesurements with Maxxecu and double checked with infrared temperature "gauge"?
