      hello,
i found on the net a similar intercooler as the one Bo made only has smaller dimentions. It is 500 x 230 x 65. This is bigger than the RS2 intercooler and i wanted to ask those who do have experience if it is good enough for the mark of 450hp(crank) which im aiming.

      cheers

have found these 2 options...im not sure if the 1st one will fit as the exit seems to come too close to the fog lamp of the RSR2 bumper and may not have enough clearance to make the turn.

the second one is the usual one martin and S2 Bo have bought only smaller.

i intend to use water injection as well, this is why im not going for a monster intercooler

          thanks!

            Bo,

the IC size you have didn't demand any modifying to the bumper?
I just want to fit an big IC that does not require any modding to the bumper..

            cheers,
            Anders

Does anyone fitted the 600x300x76 core IC like Bo with Air Condition?

                Hi Anders.

I did need to trim a little bit of the inside of the bumper.

Only about 0.5 - 1cm though, Same goes for the vents.

It might be possible to get away with out doing this. Depends how much dip you want in the IC and how close you like it to the Crank pulley.

                Cheers,
                Bo

I dont see why it wouldn't work, the exit piping would have to go a different route to how i have done it though as the AC compressor will be in the way.

Mine still had the a/c installed (3b) no probs, but i think the aby a/c pulley on the may stick out a little further, im not sure though.

But you dont have the Aux Rad.

                    @Bo
If the pipe goes under the main pulley and the A-c compressor then the room is not enough for the pipe i think.

Who was this forum member that had the pipe go from the left behind the engine and up to the stock IM?

Bo could it be possible to keep the A/C compressor by producing a steeinless steel pipe that could make a curve around it and then move up to the inlet manifold tube?

I don't see why not. But the Compressor is quite big and it would increase the already massive length that the air has to travel to reach the IM.

Best other route would be to scrap the AUX rad and stick the pipe wok there... Or Go the reversed inlet manifold route

If we incline the IC to the front and make the Crossmember so that it goes allmost like the Original would it not work?
