  • The good news is I doubt you’ll need a new wastegate. The bad news is figuring out what to do next. I’d be tempted to put it back as is (assuming it worked) and seek counsel from the great and the good as to either leaving it or reverse engineering it.

    • Ok, so I now need the standard wastegate cap parts

      • Not really, just shove it back together

        Is it actually damaged/ruined?

Agree, it’ll work as is, but you’ll probably need a new wastegate cap if you reverse engineer it as that hole will be massive.

          • No, I just trying to put the car back to standard, so would like the original parts. It's also insured as "No modifications" so as I now know this is a mod (and a bad one at that) I would prefer the unmodified parts.

Well I think I answered my own question about walking into a world of pain.. The answer plain & simple is yes I did...

Check part numbers of course -you only need cap.

              • I can only apologise, you didn’t even come here this morning looking for help with a period modification/lash up.

                • It was a good spot, and glad it got noticed.

                  • Could also explain why someone unplugged the n75 valve?

Yep. Reading that historical thread it implies the superchip solution doesn’t use N75 whereas other modifiers do.

                      • Where is the ECU on the S2 (Sorry still working my way around this car) Just wanting to see if it's been tampered with.

                            And Martin’s post.

Passenger side footwell, behind glovebox. Remove lower glovebox cardboard trim and follow the wiring loom.

                              • If you can picture this mounted on the back of the glovebox…

The ECU should slide out of the tray downwards (past the retaining spring clip).
