Yup, Photobucket is absolute dog ****. I only put up with it as it was free. Its riddled with bugs, none the features work properly and the advertising is so aggressive that it virtually punches you in the face. I actually can't believe they have the audacity and complacency to think that people will really pay for that level of crap. :corey:

Anyway, I spent half an hour repairing the pics on the last page... only 77 more to go

Wow, you're honestly going to repair this entire thread?? I fixed 6 pictures on the last page of my Mental Wheel thread, there's no way I'm going to fix the God knows how many pictures there are left to fix and that's only 19 pages long not 104 like yours! I've just shed a few tears and accepted that the thread is lost Good luck to you, you have a great deal more fortitude than I do.

You're absolutely right about Photobucket and their aggressive, in-your-face adverts, you close one down for another one to replace it, then another. Then another will occupy the whole screen, some aren't even clear how you're supposed to get rid of them, it's mental and they want $400 for the privilege... what the hell are they thinking? Whoever is responsible for what they've done needs to be strung up!!

I only had 420 images hosted so the way I see it , it is going to cost me $1/image of my time to move them and more than likely ill only move the ones I really care about.
This was a blessing in disguise though as it motivated me to add the gallery feature to my website which I should have done in 2009 but just got lazy.

Whatever the case no more phuckbucket for me

It's probably time for an update. I've managed to fix about 10 pages of the pics now. The new function to send to the forum server is really great and makes life really easy

After collecting a load of parts I started building the engine recently.

I ended up using the overbored ABY block I already had that came with my ABY shell as it was in excellent condition, but had been bored to 83mm by the previous owner and this was no good for me, since the limit of the MLS gasket is really 82.25 meaning new pistons were not a viable option.
After some deliberation I got some sleeves from Westwood and had the block rebored back to factory standard 81.01mm, in order to use standard ABY pistons.

I milled some cooling channels into the deck and head faces and painted it ready to build up:

                              COnMqQQ.jpg
                              DPzn2HW.jpg

                              gMxVE4w.jpg

I had a few sets of pistons, so I picked the best 5. These all have only have about 0.01 wear on the skirt so perfect, giving a bit of extra clearance.
I skimmed them by to drop the CR to around 8.4:1, without affecting the crown thickness. FCP rods, new Mahle rings, stock main bolts, Glyco bearings etc. Ignore the diff that's not going in the engine

                              GGTtj74.jpg

Pistons and rods matched to 0.1g, rods mass centred to 0.1g
The bottom end was balanced correctly - in the block as an assembly not by guessing with bob weights.

I made some little additions, just because

                              Stainless coolant nipple:

                              uuINmQ6.jpg

Stainless 1/8 NPT adapter for the block, in order to fit a 0-5v Honeywell oil pressure sensor:
