    Should mine be trimmed?
These are fine in an ABY cam cover, mine are fitted without trimming in the avant.

Does the ABY have a tighter window than the 3B for hall sensor?

I am reluctant to mess about with it as it was starting,
Easy to check dizzy position, set flywheel to TDC (Zero mark aligned in bell housing window) Check that mark on hall sensor window disc aligns with mark on dizzy body.

Has the ECU come unplugged? Can you pull codes?

Have you checked the hall sensor Andy, has the IM disturbed the dizzy? Also check the fuse for the coil, perhaps the TFSI coils draw more than the 3B unit. Drop me a PM we can work through all the wiring to check all that has been changed
How would I check the hall sensor is working?

Any idea where the coil fuse is?

I have checked all the fuses in the fusebox in the engine bay, are there more under the dash?

Ok, I have a 2 and 3 pin plug, but it is 2-2 and 3-3, has not been touched.

I do not appear to have spark (Spark plug resting on cam cover)

When I span the engine for a while it fired once as I let the key go.

It should be fine then. On the stock ABY loom you have two 3 pin white plugs that fire the coils, one does cylinder 1,2+3 and the other 4+5.

I got them the wrong way round first try and engine coughed and farted and backfired like mad but wouldn't run, quick message to Mr Tonks and it was running in 5 mins!

I notice some genuine injector O-rings, their nice and cheap aren't they
That was my thoughts, cant hurt to separate them as per OEM though.

There is fuel at the rail, I dont have anybody to crank, might try and leave a plug on the cam cover and look through the windscreen?

    Yeah, £23ish for 5
