Tell me about it... felt really awful when I saw what winter salt had done to it. Thankfully most of the underbody was ok. It was that the mechanical stuff that looked bad. Now most large parts have been galvanised and should last much longerComment

Ok.
Looking at the last picture and comparing it with the one below...
It appears that I have some kind of weird rear subframe from an audi model I cannot find where the written differences are evident. This does not allow us to modify the rear link adjuters properly thus seriously considering to have to remove everything and refurbish my own subframe and put it all out and in again.
Does anyone know which model this subframe belongs to?Comment

First off, great project
Here is what I found over on motorgeek that may help. Two pages with lots of pictures regarding B4 & B5 rear suspension. The second page shows the difference between the two rear subframes.
