that reminded me of refrigerant circuit in big chillers
you take small amount of liquid refrigerant to cool main stream of that liquid by passing it trough small heat exchanger thus getting better efficiency
practically pre-cooling liquid before evaporation ... it's called economiser

hmm ... what if we would use AC for cooling the intake air?

Good news. Got the calipers from electro coating, and they seems to work very well. Don't even have to pull the brake so hard... Hope the MOT man is satisified with them? They didn't end up looking too bad either.

Thomas, that looks cool! I am trying to imagine MOT people's faces when they see your brakes. I think soon, Audi engineers will start looking for you.

Thanks. I will paint them when they start to rust and need to be refurbed.

Propably aluminium would be strong enough as they are just parking brakes. But I don't have possibility to cut thick(over 5mm) aluminium, would need nitrogen gas, we just use oxygen as cutting mild steel only. I have something like 2,5 m2 of 10mm aluminium sheet waiting for something I can make of it though.

These are quite a lot lighter than the stock calipers anyway. Some have been using the stock calipers only for the handbrake...

Car is now MOTed without any notifications.

The handbrake was good, only a little bit difference between the sides. 1.9kNm vs 1.5kNm so 21% difference, but that doesn't matter, 70% is allowed.
