Recieved the new piston pins today. Shipped last friday from US and today here, really fast. Also Freddy at CP-Pistons was a really nice and helpfull guy.

Started the official engine assembly yesturday. Have gapped rings and done some other small things. These takes time, and I work on evening shift this week so it always interrupts my time...

Hate to put updates without pic, so lets put one like this of build materials.

The breather assy seemed hard to fit without destroying it, so I made a special tool wich helped a lot to fit it properly.






Removed all sharp edges of the pistons, also the sides of the valve pockets.




Piston ring gaping in progress... First ring 0,45mm, second 0,50mm, oilrings 0,40mm.

The bottom end begins to be assembled.








All rod neck clearenses was ~ 0.050mm.

Tell me what the torque at the rods(H-profile) bolts ?
The same will soon be to assemble ....

I did use 55ft/lbs(74Nm) with motor oil. 50ft/lbs(68Nm) is enough with ARP lube.

It's a external block heater for the cold winters.

Which side up did you put the Kalskes oil pump gear? There are these little... viisteet on the other side, what they're called in english, don't know.

Viiste = bevel. I did put the bevel face down, like the orginal gear. Here is the new gear fitted in the housing:

Today I officially started the fuel line uprating. Removed the lines and fuel filter from the engine bay and planned the bottom lines replacement. The old lines seems quite rusty and knackered. New lines gona be 12x1mm stainless piping.

any reason why you cannot re-locate the fuel pump?...give you a little more room in the engine bay...for bigger turbos!!...

If you mean the fuel filter, then yes, I'm going to re-locate it somewhere. Propably in the trunk. About the fuel pump I'm not sure yet. I have a 044 pump ready waiting and I ordered the basket assembly to fit it in the tank, but have also been thinking of a surge tank and external dual 044's...

Here you can clearly see how the fuel filter is stock located. It's quite a hot place, and if you get a fuel leak it's bye bye then.
