  • Stick it in tank and relay it, it will be enough.

    • Yes, I propably do so. And if the fuel is some day changing to E85 then it's easy to put back the old Walbro in the tank, add an external surge tank and another another 044.

      • With one 044 you will get max 350kW from wheels with only pump gas. That is what you will have to think about. Are you sattisfied with <600hp from motor if all other components will let you go to 700 hp. :mischeif:

        • Rst don't agree with that one can give you a few projects on here over 600 on single 044 like mrc600 aromatic stroker etc
If he's going bigger fuel lines he will be ok
If he's going e85 more pumps will be needed

          • I agree. Over 600 is achievable with single 044 using petrol. Of course this is no thing to play with so slightly oversizing the fuel system is always a good idea.

One option is to put another pump in the engine bay so that 044 is fed by a 044 (or 040). This certainly works and gives more flow.

Can be used in sequence with an intank Walbro or Bosch 040 fuel pump.
Bosch has recently stated a rather low pump life time estimate for 044 when E85 is used.

              Maybe.

I'm talking about my personal experience. Nothing more. I had bigger fuel lines (ID=10mm) but the fuel pressure started to taper. I was using 4 bar fuel pressure.
Now if you lower your base fuel pressure to 2.5 or 3 bar then the pump max flow will be better/bigger but still i dont think that it is the right way to achieve this level of power.
If Thuppu still wants 700hp then WI and off you go with only one 044 pump.
Actually it would be the easiest way also.

              • Hmm, great info here guys. How does the stock pressure regulator handle two relayed 044's on idle/low rpm's? Does it flow enough?

Well, I have tried to do everything so 600+hp is possible, but if close to 700hp is possible then it's welcome. On the other hand propably my cluch can't hold over 700Nm.

                  Did you relay your pump?

                  • From what i've found relaying the pump is a must do mod.

I have a 044 pump ready waiting and I ordered the basket assembly to fit it in the tank, but have also been thinking of a surge tank and external dual 044's...

Here you can clearly see how the fuel filter is stock located. It's quite a hot place, and if you get a fuel leak it's bye bye then.

                      Mike, seeing something yours?
yeah thomas I did mean filter....

I thought I recognised that picture....

I am still thinking of reducing the hotside...I prefer the kick in the back lowdown...but we shall see....got try and think of where to send it...Kai or Justin @CT direct....I just want to avoid the taxes when its shipped back to me...

                      • Offtopic can't they supply a housing without sending the turbo back? I know Justin likes to have the turbo back though for fitments

Yes, without relay it won't even reach 550hp without tapering.

                            • Finally last few bits for the engine. Oilpressure sender, adapter and switch, knocksensors and the basket for the 044.

                              • Proto of the air intake with big MAF and 9" AEM dryflow filter. 3,5" piping with a 3,5-4" reducer to fit the turbo. Final fitting when engine is in place...
