    • Mike, I have been using a MAFless system, since last summer. Works really great, but still need to resolve some issues(not MAF or MAP related). Dmitri was here, and he got the car running quite powerfull...(don't ask him how many times he mapped the car from scratch ) until it lifted the head and blown the heater radiator. We like had a steam bath inside the car with Dmitri.

      • Yes, started lifting over 2 bar. At 1.8 bar everything was fine, but over that started to lift, even with conservative timing (Gasoline timing on E85).
        Luckily nothing got damaged.

The car is running speed density, so MAF is no longer needed.

Do you know why the head lifted?

                  • With the headbolts he used were no instructions inlcluded or anything mentioned from the seller. The bolts didn't get retorqued after first warmup so this is the result. In the end it didn't mean much as the engine was eating alot of oil anyway and that was badly affecting the mapping.

                    • What are the signs you see when the head is lifted? Pressure on the coolant system from the start or something else?
                      Go Holset or Go RS4

                      • It lifted from about 2 bar of boost onward. They blew the heater radiator in the cabin when it happened Otherwise when going under, at 1.8 bar as Dmitri said it worked fine, except using lots of oil.
The head gasket is scrap and block deck and head will need skimming when this occurs.

When inside the car is like turkish sauna because the rad blew from the pressure!
Or when your coolant light comes on and you realize the expansion tank is empty.
