We have had this discussion on another thread. Looks like idle has not much relevance than what the oil pressure does as rpm rise. My engine fully rebuilt has 1.4bar with 10w50 fuchs Titan, and gets swiftly to 4bar as early as 2000rpm. A lot of fully rebuilt engines from members are like that.
I am changing the sender and switch as well tomorrow to verify.
Just before the rebuild and with 100k kms from the previous rebuild I was having 2 to 2.5bar on idle and using the same oil pump ( now refurbed as well). But we noticed that Ola had a slightly crushed check valve previously. Don't know if it was causing the higher pressure reading though.
I will report in the weekend of how the pressure behaves.
