After doing a quick search on ebay.com to see if there any U281 Scanners on offer in Canada or the US, I discovered that they all came out of China. So I went with the one on ebay.co.uk linked above. As I complete the purchase, I see the fellow is Chinese with a London address. I will be interested where it actually gets shipped from (China or the UK). Went with the 2x2 adapter as well.

Thanks mate, might as well get one. It's not like I'll need it just once is it?

Works on my 1991 7A-engine coupe, lives in the glovebox, and I have permanently fitted the OBD port to the car, so easier to plug/unplug

Sound, might get one. I have the adapter from vagcom
So that one would be compatible woth out old rides?Leave a comment:

If all you are after is codes, then it is plug and play, no laptop needed.
If you want to look at values then you can pull out vagcom, assuming you have it?

Little more than a tenner, but makes the job so easy.Leave a comment:

You would do well just to spend a tenner and get a cheapie VW/Audi code reader off ebay, saves so much hassle.Leave a comment:

Oops, my bad! I think I need to start with installing the check engine light, as I am 99% sure I don't have one.
How long is the pause when code is being 'flashed'? It says 2.5s pause but how do I know when 'new' number is being flashed?Leave a comment:

UrS C4, 200 20VT (3B) and S2/RS2 OBD1 Fault Code access port locations and info
No blue connectors on an UrS4/S6. You didn't scroll down to the UrS 20VT AAN code pulling section:I'm having a bit of an issue here. I am new to this "code pulling" thing, so I might be missing something. Following this (http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl...v.html#details) I should have black, white and blue connector, but I don't have the blue one? So I can't connect the LED?
