  • The COOLEST update

    The long awaited (maybe?) intercooler-update!

As with everything, Murphy's law was being a bitch, so nothing got done in time...
So I opted to wait until I had something to show for it all. And today is that day!

First of, I needed a new intercooler. The stock one was way too thick and had the outflows pointing all over the place. This one is for an RX7 i think, it's thinner, but instead a bit longer.

And ofc a bunch of piping. Cut and marked in this pic.

I had to cut the little lip from the bottom of the crashbar, and then I made these nifty hanger-style mounts.

    Extended one side a bit.

    Piping nightmare.

Had to get one of these to hold the pipes down, because it is REALLY tight.

    As you can see...

    From the back.

I did have to take ~20mm out in a couple of places on the front bumper, but all in all not even noticeable!

I was gonna paint the intercooler black, but it looks kinda cool so I'm thinking about leaving it as is... Thoughts?

There's some small stuff to do still.
I need some hoseclamps, I still need to drill a hole for the air-temp-sensor. (You can see the "bung" on the 90 degree pipe by the intake)

And there's some other tinkering too, I need a seat and a steering wheel for exampel, and some fluids needs refilling.
But THIS weekend I'll be damned if I don't get to take a stroll!

    • Black - stealth. Nice that it fit under there

      • Usually I would say black, however it is so well executed I would say leave it as it is.

It is REALLY snug though, so relieved that I managed to pull it off

Exactly what I thought! It's dead center and perfectly lined up, so I kinda wanna brag about it

                            • Yeah I'm real exited about getting her "done". I tried pulling her a bit in third, and even though the brake was kinda stuck and the airleak it pulled pretty good
Gonna be great with a chip and new WG-spring!

                                Ten valves do sound great!
