Apparently they have been in storage for many years. Kit has clearly looked after them

Managed a few clear hours in the garage.
Fitted the bonnet. It was very dirty underneath from where it was stored.
Gave it a good wash.


I got the exhaust all fitted. I had to do a small weld on one of the hangers. I was going to get some stainless wire for my mig, but then found that the pipe is actually mild steel! I was surprised. Thought they were all stainless.
I cleaned the pipes with the wire wheel and treated them with Rust converter. Gives a good black finish which also offers some rust protection.



Comparing them side by side, the S2 Avant is identical to the 2.8 apart from the diameter of the pipes.

Hi matey. I have a period CD player and changer that I may sell. It’s in my s2 currently. Only thing is I can’t stand the intermittent radio coverage. I need a digital one!!! Not sure if the changer works as it’s unplugged.

What make is it?

I have a very slight weep from my rear dif fill plug. I’ve torqued it up correctly and it’s still weeping. Has anyone got a suggested sealer that works? PTFE tape or blue hermatite?
When that’s done I can put the car back on it’s wheels.

Santa brought me two nice presents for my S2.
First, a CTEK to keep my battery in tip top condition.

I can’t recommend these highly enough. Been using them for years on my bike and tractor. Ideal for vehicles that aren’t used on a regular basis.

Good buy. on the coupe ive made up a lead to plug into the cig lighter sockets. The battery is far more accessible on the avant!
