I’ve tested the fan and resistor plate which appears to be ok so I have ordered a new thermo switch for the rad. Hopefully that should fix the problem. I did run the engine again and let it get as hot as I dared and the fan didn’t kick in again. As soon as I shut the engine off, the after run pump and fan kicked in fine. I’ve been reading up on a thread based on a similar issue and in that case it was the fan motor. However, my fan works fine if I short the plug out and when I switch the engine off.
I have a few other electrical gremlins to sort. I have wired the windows back to front but they are all working. The sunroof is totally dead. I was reading a good threat here on the sunroof and will be checking the relay first.
My spare battery is on the way out so I bought a new Bosch one today. I will fit it tomorrow.
My parts arrived from Will (thanks mate) and I got the brackets fitted. They were not a simple fit. The front bolt is M8 but the hole is M6. The rear bolt is M6. I didn’t have the proper bolts so had to cut down a couple to fit. They need to be quite short, otherwise they foul the strut tube. I had to drill out the front mount hole in the bracket to accommodate the M8 bolt.
I should now be able to make up the brake pipes and fill and bleed everything.

Ok. Thanks. Do they share the same thermo fuse as well? If so, I will test the motor next.
Is it a basic type or pre-select?

Ok. Pulled the relay and opened it up. All good inside. No dry joints.
Checked the sunroof motor. No current at the switch. However there is a current above it. The wires go into a plug at the side of the motor them back down to the switch. The wire going into this plug is live. I’m confused.
So, decided to leave it whilst thinking and started on the brake pipes up front.
Painted the fittings with 2k chassis paint first.
Finished one side tonight.

Tidy!
Are the caliper bolts long enough?
