Just buy a couple of stainless steel of "closed nuts" like these:
Cut off part of the rounded head (try them on the plastic duct recess to see how much) and you end up with a perfect fit by fixing them upside down.
Hope i was clear enough...

Renewing registration plate lights
I knew they had been dangling by the wires ever since I got the car back from the painters. That has been years ago and I guess I just got used to seeing the light like that. It bothered me for a while and then somewhere along the way I stopped noticing them. About a week ago I looked at the car and thought "why have I waited so long to do something about those lights?" Today was the day......and about time too!
2 x Rubber boot Audi# 8A0943191 Porsche# 964 612 620 00
2 x Plate light gasket Audi# 8A0 943 189 Porsche# 993 631 166 00
2 x Lens: Audi# 8A0943021 Porsche# 964 631 620 01 01c
4 x oval head panel screw; 4,2X16: Audi# N 0139649 Porsche# 999 919 084 07
Maybe a good scrubbing???.....naw.
All the needed parts. Bought them all from the local Porsche dealer as they were all sourced from the 964 and the 993.
The protective rubber boot. At first glance I thought I saw Audi rings in there.....looking closer I realized that was three rings and not four.
The plate light gasket. Reused my original ones.
The lens
The order of install
Installed
A close up.
Looking a little better without the wiring hanging out ot the bumper.

I had snapped a couple of pics of the heat shields before they went on the motor just for this reason.
